I was born like this. My parents tried their best to suppress it, but it manifested regardless. Since I discovered that I was like this, I transform 80% of the time. I have adapted to living like this. My body no longer craves normal food. All I crave is human blood. And human flesh. I am half human half python – the gift from Ntazi.

According to my father, my likes are in Ntazi village. The village that blessed him and my mother with my birth, after years of childlessness. During their visit to the village, My mother was made to sleep in the sacred Ntazi room. Three weeks after they returned, she got pregnant and had me 9 months later.

However, It’s been 8years since I found out what I am. And I’ve already made peace with it. Even at the time of this writing, I am in my true form, and I’ve never felt more alive.

Like I said earlier , I stopped having the hunger for food two years ago and started feeding on humans. My mother was the first person I fed on. She came into my room to give me the news that I have been accepted into the fashion school I applied to, but I have already changed into a python. As she entered, I swallowed her. I can still remember the taste of her blood. How I crushed her skull, and how her eyeballs were stuck in my teeth when I transformed back into my human form. Before you ask, yes! I chewed her eyeballs, it was quite juicy.  My dad didn’t know what happened to my mother. But I bet he does now, because I have eaten him too. They’re probably going to meet up for a happy ending in my belly.

This feels very normal to me. Although humans are always going to judge, I don’t care. I remember one time I got hungry in the shopping mall. It had over 70 people shopping there at that time, I transformed and the first person I ate up was the pregnant woman beside me. She was the tastiest human I’ve ever eaten. Some people managed to escape, some passed out. Nevertheless, I had a feast. I ate about 15 people. And before the cops came, I had already changed back to that innocent girl the world knows.

People don’t like me and it’s quite understandable. But I must feed to be alive. And I can only feed on humans. Animals are not as tasty as humans and I get hungry very quickly after eating animals. But I could go days and weeks without getting hungry after feeding on a human. After I fed on my mother, I went 2 months without feeding. That was the longest I’ve ever gone. Probably because I was mourning her.

Well, I don’t regret anything though. Humans and animals exist to survive, I am both. And I am fighting to survive. It’s worse for me because society won’t even accept me. I didn’t ask to be like this.  Anyway, I will try to find my way to Ntazi village.

But before that, I am hungry. And aunty faith is knocking on the door, I bet she will make a tasty lunch.
